MAIDEN ANNOUNCE FIVE SHOWS IN BRAZIL FOR MARCH 09 INCLUDING A RETURN TO SAO PAULO AT THE INTERLAGOS FORMULA ONE CIRCUIT
Published: November 28, 2008
Dates for Brazil are now announced as part of Iron Maiden’s extensive journey around Latin America on the final leg of their Somewhere Back in Time World Tour. These are:
Thursday March 12 – MANAUS, Sambrodromo
Saturday March 14 – RIO DE JANEIRO, Apoteose
Sunday March 15 – SAO PAULO, Autdromo de Interlagos
Wed March 18 RECIFE, Estdio Municipal
Fri March 20 BRASILIA, Brasilia Camping
This will be the first time that the band have ever played in the beautiful coastal city of Recife, the capital city Brasilia, and Manaus, situated on the Amazon in the very heart of the rainforest. It will also be their first visit to Rio for 6 years.
Following massive demand for tickets and the rapid sell out of the 40,000 capacity Palmeiras Stadium in Sao Paolo earlier this year the band will also return there again, but this time in a much bigger venue, the famous Formula One Grand Prix circuit Interlagos, where Lewis Hamilton sealed the Formula One World Championship last month. Other than Formula One Racing, the only other events ever to be arranged there are a concert by Kiss in 1999, Brazil’s Skol Beat electronic dance festival and an appearance by His Holiness the Pope, for whom hundreds of thousands turned out. It promises to be a very special event
See local media for more details.
More Latin America concerts will be announced soon.
Espero que não cancelem o show aqui em Brasilia, pois isso vem acontecendo sempre, por falta de interesse do povo, que parece apenas preferir axezeiros e pagodeiros. A já chamada capital do rock nacional está devendo e muito à cena rock and roll.
